Our mission is to cultivate a community where all can share in the goodness of the earth. Through educational experiences, practical skills, and meaningful relationships with animals, we inspire each other to connect with nature and learn healthier habits for life.

What we do

  • Teach practical skills and land stewardship values through our fun & educational Guided Tours, Field trips, and Outdoor Classroom Series

  • Work with community partners to divert landfill waste and create healthy soil

  • Provide a gathering space for community events that foster activists, organizers, farmers, and chefs through our volunteer programs & internship offerings

  • Sell fresh farm produce; check out our produce at The Bower, and The Spyre Center

Core Values

  • Sustainable, ecological, and culturally sound agriculture is the core of what we do. We aim to practice and teach methods that are kind to the land and our bodies.

  • We believe in the fair and equitable distribution of resources—ALL should have access to food that sustains the Earth and their local communities.

  • We center land and food as universal topics, which bind us together regardless of race, class, or creed.

  • We encourage kindness towards Earth and all her creatures (animals, plants, and humans alike) and model these values on our farm.

  • We believe in the healing power of nature. Our land and animals infuse us with joy and foster impactful connections.

Support the Farm

Sugar Roots is a non-profit entity and gladly accepts donations. 100% of our funding is reinvested in the farm, where it becomes soil, seeds, feed for our animal ambassadors, and more.
